Caracas, August 17 (RHC)-- Venezuela’s President Nicolás Maduro denounced that the government of Argentina, led by Javier Milei, financed a series of massive cyber attacks against Venezuela with public funds.

“Milei spent the equivalent of 100 million dollars from the Side (Secretariat of State Intelligence).   Milei says he has no money but spent 100 million dollars from the Side in Argentina to attack with his bots the Bolivarian Revolution, the Bolivarian government and the Venezuelan political process”, Maduro denounced at a press conference.

And he pointed out that the current Argentinian president used these bot farms during his election campaign in Argentina, creating the false perception of a massive popular support on social networks and buying influencers to amplify his message.

“Milei simulated, created the atmosphere that everyone spoke in his favor and bought important influencers in Argentina and abroad,” said the Venezuelan head of state.

Nicolas Maduro pointed out that at least 106 websites in the country have been victims of cyber attacks in the past 20 days.  And he said that according to experts, these attacks have been carried out by sophisticated bot farms located in Spain, Mexico and Argentina, with the aim of destabilizing the Bolivarian government and undermining its political process.

In that sense, Maduro specified that last Wednesday the television program of Diosdado Cabello -- “Con el Mazo Dando” -- was attacked simultaneously from Spain, Mexico and Argentina during the live broadcast of the cycle and the accounts where it was broadcast were saturated with automated messages that tried to discredit the content and generate chaos.

Blackmail and Manipulation of Public Opinion

In addition to attacking political figures, bot farms have been used to blackmail public figures such as artists and influencers both inside and outside of Venezuela.

Maduro mentioned as an example the case of Pedro Infante, a renowned Venezuelan singer, who received intimidating messages through WhatsApp demanding that he speak out against the government of Maduro under threat of killing him and members of his family.

In response to these attacks, the Venezuelan president called on youth and the people in general to defend the truth of Venezuela on social networks, fighting with truthful information and strengthening popular power.

At the same time, Maduro stressed the importance of participatory and proactive democracy in defending the Venezuelan revolutionary process and invited all sectors of society to join actively in the construction and defense of a sovereign country.

With the popular power, with the truth of Venezuela, with the blessings of God and with this beautiful process they will never be able to do anything about us”, concluded Nicolas Maduro.
