Caracas, September 4 (RHC)-- Venezuelan Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino López warns that a coup against the South American nation is still underway in the context of the post-presidential elections on July 28th, in which Nicolás Maduro was re-elected.

"This is a coup d’état that has no end.  It is in full development, and we see how the coup d’état is becoming internationalized," stated Padrino López during a presentation at the Military Academy in Caracas.

The senior Venezuelan official indicated that the campaign against Venezuela has been internationalized, "adding the governments of several countries in Latin America, the European Union, the United States and Canada."

"Venezuela as a nation and the Armed Forces as an institution are the permanent targets of U.S. imperialism to fragment the Venezuelan state and fracture the national spirit, its institutions, its democracy," he said.
