United Nations, September 24 (RHC)-- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said: “Just as Hitler was stopped by the alliance of humanity 70 years ago, Netanyahu and his murderous network must be stopped by the alliance of humanity.”
The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said this Tuesday during his speech at the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, that the UN has not fulfilled the promise for which it was founded.
In this regard, Erdogan said: “In recent years, the United Nations has been inadequate in fulfilling its founding mission and is increasingly becoming a dysfunctional, cumbersome and inert structure.”
The Turkish president stressed that his country has no problem with the Jewish people or with civilians in Israel, with whom he said it has historical and cultural ties that go back centuries, “where our problem lies is in Israel's attacks. We always talk about the truth and what is fair, even if this makes it some uncomfortable.”
He also stated that Gaza has become, as a result of Israel's attacks, the largest cemetery for children and women in the world.
The Turkish head of state asked the UN Security Council: "What are you waiting for to stop the network of massacres that drags the entire region into war for political gain?"
The Turkish leader stressed that the Israeli occupation is committing ethnic cleansing and open genocide against Palestine and is also occupying its lands. “We are against anti-Semitism, we are also opposed to attacking Jews simply because of their faith,” he added.
Erdogan thanked all the people who have shown their support for Palestine and who take to the streets every week, especially university students. “The establishment of an independent, sovereign and geographically integrated Palestinian State, with East Jerusalem as its capital, cannot be postponed any longer,” he said.
