Beirut, September 30 (RHC)-- At least 17 members of a single family have been killed in an Israeli strike on eastern Lebanon, as the occupying regime continues to conduct air raids in several towns and villages across the Arab country.

Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reported on Sunday that the casualties occurred after an Israeli airstrike targeted a house in the town of Zboud in the Bekaa Valley in northeastern Lebanon.

NNA went on to say that rescue teams are still working to find survivors under the rubble following the attack.  Earlier in the day, NNA reported that at least 11 people were killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting a house in the town of Ain in the Bekaa Valley in northeastern Lebanon.

A new wave of Israeli airstrikes reportedly hit a southern suburb of Lebanon’s capital Beirut, which had come under deadly aerial attacks by the regime just hours earlier.
The report stated that six bodies were recovered from the rubble following the airstrike, while rescue operations are ongoing to retrieve five more victims.

Israeli warplanes also carried out intense airstrikes on Tyre, the southern towns of Kfarchouba and Kfar Kila, as well as Hermel and its surrounding areas in eastern Lebanon.

The latest strikes come as the Israeli regime has intensified its assault on Lebanon, which has become more deadly this week, resulting in over 700 deaths nationwide since Monday.

Meanwhile, Israel has claimed it has struck “dozens” of targets belonging to the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah, as the regime continues to pound Lebanon, two days after the assassination of the group’s Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in a southern Beirut suburb.

The Israeli military said on Sunday its warplanes attacked dozens of Hezbollah targets in the last few hours, including “buildings where weapons and military structures of the organization were stored.”

In a violent bombardment campaign on Friday, Israel leveled several apartment buildings in the Dahiyeh area of southern Beirut, which led to the death of scores of civilians as well as the martyrdom of Nasrallah and several Hezbollah officials.

The latest aggression came against the backdrop of escalated tensions between the Lebanese resistance movement and the occupying entity, which included the targeted killing of top Hezbollah commanders and the detonation of telecommunication devices belonging to the Muslim resistance group.

The assassination came as part of the regime’s escalation against Hezbollah. Israel has been targeting Lebanon since October 7th last year, when it launched an intensified genocidal war on the besieged Gaza Strip.

Hezbollah has been responding to the aggression with numerous retaliatory operations, including one with a hypersonic ballistic missile, targeting the occupied Palestinian territories.

The Lebanese resistance movement has vowed to keep up its operations against Israel as long as the Israeli regime continues its Gaza war, which has so far killed more than 41,500 Palestinians, mostly women and children.
