Caracas, January 4 (RHC)-- Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil denounced this Thursday that the Argentinian government uses erratic diplomatic actions against Venezuela, in order to justify its own failure and complicity with the Venezuelan far-right.

"The officials of Milei's puppet government, who are involved in a far-right, couprist agenda against Venezuela, use erratic diplomatic actions to justify their own failure and complicity," Gil stated on Telegram, after Javier Milei's government announced that it would take the case of the arrest of the Argentine police officer at the Colombia-Venezuela border to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

In this regard, the Venezuelan top diplomat stated that "Milei's Argentine government is once again putting on a pathetic show, from one international ridicule to another."  Gil questioned that the Milei government evokes "the Rome Statute, clearly unknown to them, to feed their sick political obsession, is a demonstration not only of ignorance but of a scandalous lack of seriousness."

The minister, in the message, stated that "justice and human rights are not instruments for desperate agendas."  "The fiasco they have become only reaffirms them as the laughingstock of global diplomacy," emphasized Yván Gil.

On December 27, the Venezuelan Prosecutor's Office announced that Argentine citizen Nahuel Agustín Gallo was under investigation for his links with members of the Venezuelan far-right, after being arrested on December 8 while attempting to enter the Bolivarian nation irregularly, with the purpose of committing acts of terrorism.

Subsequently, and in response to the statements made by Argentina's Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich, and Foreign Minister Gerardo Werthein, in which they denied the evidence presented by the Venezuelan government, the Public Ministry announced that both would be included as persons of interest in the investigation.
