Santiago, October 25 (RHC-Xinhua) -- Chile will apply the anti-terror law in the case of a young man who was killed by a homemade explosive blast last month, local media reported Friday.

The rarely used anti-terror law will be applied in the case involving the death of 29-year-old Sergio Landskron, who was killed on September 25th after picking up an abandoned backpack in downtown Santiago that contained a homemade explosive device, Deputy Interior Minister Mahmud Aleuy told Chile's National Television.

The anti-terror law will be applied "every time a terrorist attempt takes place in Chile," Aleuy added. ' The incident occurred just two weeks after another blast injured 14 people at an underground shopping passageway, the worst attack in Chile in 24 years.

Three suspects were arrested after the Sept. 25 blast, who were members of a self-proclaimed anarchist group believed to have planted nearly 200 explosive devices since 2005 at financial institutions and police stations.
