Reports of Israeli forces demolishing structures in southern Gaza ‘buffer zone’

Deir el-Balah, April 17 (RHC)-- Israel continues its relentless attacks against Gaza, killing dozens in new attacks as 500,000 have now been forcibly displaced.

According to Al Jazeera correspondent, Tareq Abu Azzoum reporting from Deir el-Balah, Gaza Strip: "Eye-witnesses, living close to the area where the Israeli military is operating in, report on the constant bombardment that could be heard due to the demolition process and operations that are taking place."

"The Israeli military is saying that they are controlling 30 percent of the Gaza Strip … a sign of the unprecedented escalation and the significant deterioration that is taking place here in Gaza."

And journalist Tarez Abu Azzoum continued: "All of this is taking place in light of the ongoing, suffocating Israeli siege on Gaza, where no food, no water, no medicine is getting into the Strip and these things are now luxuries instead of being basic necessities."
