Brasilia, November 8 (Prensa Latina-RHC)-- President Dilma Rousseff received her Uruguayan counterpart Jose Mujica, who wants to seal some pending commitments before elections are held in his country on November 30th. Mujica is paying a courtesy visit to congratulate President Dilma for her reelection.
According to diplomatic sources from Uruguay, the two heads of State will talk about the likely Brazil's financial support to the construction of a port in the Atlantic coast of Rocha department and other energy projects.
Uruguay is also interested in selling surplus gas to be generated by a regasifying plant expected to be installed in the coast of Montevideo, with a daily generation capacity of 10 million cubic meters, 20 percent of which might be exported to Brazil and some other yet to be defined percent to Argentina.
The talks are also expected to include the reinforcement of the Southern Common Market (Mercosur) and the development of a Mercosur agreement with the European Union.
Mujica is the first foreign leader to travel to Brasilia after the presidential elections.
According to his agenda, he is scheduled to return to Montevideo Saturday.
