London, November 27 (RHC)-- Thousands of people have joined a protest outside the U.S. embassy in London to condemn a decision not to prosecute an American police officer for shooting dead a Black teenager in Ferguson, Missouri.

The crowds gathered outside the U.S. embassy on Wednesday, then proceeded to march down London's Oxford Street. The protesters were carrying placards which read 2Jail Racist Cops" and "Black Lives Matter," while others held candles. The protesters also observed a minute of silence for all people killed by police around the world.

Ferguson turned into a scene of violent clashes between police and protesters after the fatal police shooting of 18-year-old African-American Michael Brown on August 9th. He was shot multiple times and killed by Darren Wilson, a white policeman.

A grand jury said on Monday that Wilson would not be indicted and that he would not even face charges for killing the teenager. The decision sparked protests throughout the United States, with some turning violent.
