Havana, February 4 (RHC-PL) -- The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia-People's Army (FARC-EP) has defended the full recognition of the rights of the victims of the armed conflict in Colombia.

The FARC-EP delegation to the 32nd round of peace talks, ongoing in Havana since 2012 with the Government of Juan Manuel Santos, demanded in its public proposal "to guarantee the full recognition of the rights of individual and collective victims of conflict."

According to the guerrillas, such a recognition must be "comprehensive, with a differential approach, with a gender perspective and in line with international standards. It will be based on the materialization of the right to truth, justice, comprehensive reparation and the guarantees that they will not happen again."

The FARC-EP also defended a special recognition and materialization of the rights of women, as well as of rural, indigenous and Afro-descendant communities as sectors hit by the long confrontation.

The insurgents also demanded the recognition, protection and special materialization of the rights of political, social and work union organizations and of the rights of the fighters victims of the conflict, mainly the prisoners and political prisoners, according to international standards.
