Roadside Bomb Kills Seven Civilians in East Afghanistan

Kabul, April 4 (RHC)-- Seven civilians, including four children and a woman, have been killed when their vehicle was struck by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan’s eastern province of Logar.

Provincial police chief, Brigadier General Abdul Hakim Ishaqzai, said the incident took place at around noon on Friday in Baraki Barak district of the province, which lies nearly 80 kilometers (49 miles) south of the capital, Kabul, when an improvised explosive device went off as the car was passing by.

No individual or group has claimed responsibility for the act of terror. However, the Islamist Taliban group is ussually responsible for such incidents.

Latest official data show as many as 22 bomb attacks were carried out in Afghanistan in March. Meanwhile, some 116 people lost their lives and nearly 170 others sustained injuries in a spate of terrorist attacks during the same period.
