Brasilia, June 27 (RHC-PL) --  Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff travels to New York today for a four-day visit to the United States, where she intends to resume political dialogue, boost trade, investment and bilateral cooperation.

Rousseff will arrive this afternoon in New York and will start her official agenda with a meeting with Brazilian entrepreneurs with businesses in the territory, and a day later will meet with investors, financiers and the U.S. productive sector.

The president will travel to Washington, where she will attend a dinner with U.S. President Barack Obama.  The dignitaries begin official talks at the White House next Tuesday.

Political Undersecretary of Foreign Ministry of Brazil, Carlos Antonio da Rocha Paranhos, said that the parties will sign a joint declaration on the commitments to be undertaken during the climate change summit in Paris later this year, another document on human rights and agreements to facilitate trade and energy cooperation.

According to Paranhos, this visit comes at a time of particular interest to revive and diversify its trade relations with various countries of the world and especially with the United States.

According to official sources, the exchange of goods between Brasilia and Washington reached 62 billion dollars last year. Brazilian exports totaled 27 billion and imports 35 billion dollars.
