Damascus, August 4 (RHC)-- Over 30 people have been killed after a Syrian military aircraft crashed on a market while bombing Takfiri militants in the northwestern Idlib province, a monitoring group says.

"It was flying at a low altitude when it had mechanical failure" over the town of Ariha, said Rami Abdel Rahman, the director of the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, on Monday. At least 60 people were also injured in the incident that according to locals resulted in "a huge blast" in the town.

One eyewitness said: "It destroyed the entire market, as well as residential buildings near the market."
