Mexico City, August 28 (teleSUR-RHC)-- Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto announced a vigorous shake-up to his cabinet Thursday, as he presented his third government report marking the halfway point of his term.

The presidential office, the National Security Commission, and the foreign and social development secretaries are among 10 positions that will change hands.

Foreign Secretary Jose Antonio Meade moves to a new role as head of social development, while the national coordinator of anti-kidnapping, Renato Sales Heredia, will become the national security commissioner.

However, while some of positions are simply changing hands, other officials will lose their posts in the top echelon of government. Jesus Murillo Karam, Monte Alejandro Rubido, Emilio Chuayffet, Enrique Martinez y Martinez, who held the titles of Sedatu, the National Public Security Commission, SEP and SAGARPA, respectively, will not continue in the cabinet.
