Berlin, September 22 (PL-RHC)-- The ambassadors of Ecuador and Egypt have held a working meeting in the German capital related to the next South America-Africa Summit.

The meeting was attended by the new Egyptian ambassador to Germany, Badr Abdelatty, and the Ecuadorian ambassador to Berlin, Jorge Jurado.

According to the Andean country's embassy, the meeting came as a result of the post that holds ambassador Jurado as president of the Latin American and Caribbean Ambassadors Group (Grulac).

"It was a very fruitful meeting, we talked about the Syrian situation and both considered very important to hold working and information meetings between the African and Latin American States' ambassadors in Berlin, said Jurado.

Jurado added they have to take into account that Quito will be the venue of the 4th South America-Africa Summit next year.

The Grulac president is the spokesman of 21 Latin American and Caribbean embassies in this capital. Jurado also has to present and represent opinions and agreements of the respective embassies during his one-year mandate as Grulac president.

Grulac has a special importance because is the only group of regional countries that has been formed in the German territory.

The Ecuadorian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that South American and African presidents will hold a summit in Ecuador in the first three months of 2016 to develop a common cooperation agenda between both regions.
