Brasilia, September 29 (RHC)-- Brazil's Workers Party (PT) has begun a campaign on TV networks and radio stations to show the true intentions of the Brazilian opposition which is taking advantage of the unfavorable economic situation.

“In statements to the nation, we are trying to set up a dialogue with the people, support the administration of President Dilma Rousseff and make public that the opposition promotes this 'the-worse-the-better' type of policy without taking into account the interests of the majority,” said the government spokesman, according to Prensa Latina news agency.

Former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will participate in the campaign to recall the achievements in the last 12 years, taking the country off the UN hunger map and returning 40 million Brazilians to the middle class.

Social programs such as “My House, My Life” and “University for Everyone,” as well as the Student Financing Fund were promoted by the Worker's Party after Lula da Silva was elected president in 2003.
