La Paz, October 24 (RHC)-- Social movements from all departments of Bolivia are celebrating the record mandate of President Evo Morales.

The Cochabamba municipality of Shinahota is the host of the festivities, organized by the Seis Federaciones del Trópico, which Evo Morales led as a trade union leader, before his election as president in 2005. Evo assumed the presidency in January 2006.

Bolivia commemorated the record longevity of Evo Morales earlier this week at an Inca indigenous religious ceremony.

The previous record for the longest stay in government corresponded to Marshal Andres de Santa Cruz, who ruled the Andean country from 1829 to 1939.
