United Nations, November 3 (RHC)-- The United Nations reports that more than 200,000 refugees crossed the Mediterranean Sea to Europe last month, the highest monthly total on record. More people made the dangerous crossing in October than in all of last year.
The report says that over the course of a single day last month, more than 10,000 people arrived in Greece. U.N. officials say the record flow is expected to continue next year amid upheavals in Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq and other countries.
