Damascus, November 10 (RHC)-- Syrian government forces have recaptured a village in the northern province of Aleppo from Daesh Takfiri militants. Syria's official news agency, SANA, said Syrian troops seized Sheikh Ahmad village on Monday.

Reports also indicate that the recent gain came as the government forces are seeking to advance to the strategic Kweiras air base, which has been controlled by Daesh terrorist group for over a year.

The control of Aleppo, which was used to serve as Syria's major trade hub before the deadly crisis started in the Arab country in March 2011, has been divided between government and militants.

Last week, Syrian armed forces reopened a major road in Aleppo after eliminating a number of Daesh terrorists. Also on Monday, Syrian troops attacked positions of al-Nusra Front terror group in the city of Busra al-Sham near Dara'a, destroying their hideouts. They also targeted militants' positions in Atman, also near Dara'a, and killed a number of terrorists.
