Washington, January 26 (RHC)-- A new analysis by The New York Times finds drug overdoses are driving the death rate of young white adults in the United States to levels not seen since the end of the AIDS epidemic more than two decades ago.

The increase makes young, white adults between the ages of 25 and 34 the first generation since the mid-1960s, during the U.S. war of aggression against Vietnam, to experience higher death rates in early adulthood than the generation that came before it.  The death rate reportedly rose much faster for those without a high school diploma.
