La Paz, May 12 (RHC)-- The Bolivian economy grew about five percent in the first quarter of the year, despite the international context marked by the drop of oil prices and raw materials.

According to the Minister of Economy, Luis Arce, reports from the National Tax Service (SIN) show increased growth for Bolivia.

Tax collection also shows an economic impulse during the first three months of 2016 in Bolivia, and a rise in commercial transactions of five percent over the same period of last year.

Official forecasts say that the Bolivian national economy will grow this year by five percent, while the inflation rate will be less than 5.3 percent and the nominal GDP will be about 38 billion 260 million dollars.
