Washington, September 30 (RHC-teleSUR) – The U.S. has spent close to 300 million in destabilization programs against Cuba during the past two decades, according to the official U.S. government data.

Former Dallas Morning News journalist Tracey Eaton, editor of the blog Along the Malecon, writes that in 2015 alone, Washington spent close to four million dollars to fund programs that promote regime change in Cuba via the U.S. agency National Endowment for Democracy.

Cuban youths are the main target of such funding, followed by communications, with two million, and political activity in Cuban communities, with more than 600 thousand.

Data compiled by Eaton points to the Miami group Cuban Democratic Directorate, which has been engaged in Cuba destabilization for 25 years, as the organization that has received the most money. The publications most funded with the U.S. destabilization money via the National Endowment for Democracy were Diario de Cuba and Cubanet.
