Havana, January 23 (RHC)-- An International Workshop on Pulmonary Vascular Disease began sessions Monday in Havana with the participation of more than 250 specialists from the United States, United Kingdom, Italy and Cuba.
Considered one of the leading causes of death in Cuba and around the world, pulmonary vascular disease is the medical term for disease affecting the blood vessels leading to or from the lungs.
The Havana workshop focuses on diagnosis, medical and surgical treatments, including lung transplant, heart-lung transplant and rehab.
One of keynote speakers, Eduardo Rivas, President of the Cuban Cardiology Society, will speak about 'pulmonary arterial hypertension: treatment and rehab.'
