Cuba’s First Commerce Convention Begins Sessions

Havana, May 15 (RHC)-- Cuba's First Commerce Convention, Cuba-2017, opened sessions Monday, at Havana’s Convention Center with the participation of more than 500 delegates and guests from 10 nations.

During the event, which runs through May 19th, researchers, executives, specialists and technical staff in general will exchange and discuss the role of trade and services in the country’s economic development.

Cuba's Deputy Domestic Trade Minister Odalys Escandell García told reporters that based on academic studies, delegates will debate the challenges and prospects for sustainable trade development.

The Convention will see the signing of a collaboration agreement between the ministries of Higher Education and Domestic Trade, on the training of specialists and skilled workers in the service and commerce sectors, and in the new forms of management that are being implemented in the country.

The First Commerce Convention, Cuba-2017, is being organized by the country's Ministry of Domestic Trade and its Research and Development Center.
