Kingston, January 9 (RHC-Minrex)-- The Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries of Jamaica, Karl Samuda, received Cuban Ambassador Inés Fors Fernández, during a courtesy visit in the Jamaican capital.
The meeting, held at the ministry, served to ratify the will of the Cuban and Jamaican governments to strengthen economic-trade relations, and bring them to the same level of excellence as political-diplomatic relations.
Minister Samuda wished the Cuban diplomat success in fulfilling her duties in this sister Caribbean nation and reiterated support for the efforts to consolidate trade exchanges. He also expressed the desire of his ministry to establish cooperation ties so that both peoples can benefit from the experience of both countries.
The Cuban Ambassador said that her country could benefit greatly from the potential exchanges with Jamaica, and reiterated the commitment to work hard to achieve these objectives.
Donovan Stanberry, Permanent Secretary, was present at the meeting, as well as other senior officials of the ministry. Ambassador Fors Fernández was accompanied by Dr. Jorge Sánchez Fuentes, in charge of commercial affairs at the Embassy.
