Sanaa, February 21 (RHC)-- Yemeni Minister of Human Rights Hooria Mashhour praised the development achieved by Cuban women, during a meeting with the island’s ambassador to that nation, David Paulovich.

Minister Mashhour said that thanks to the Revolution, Cuban women have managed to occupy important posts in the government and to carry out a notable work for the development of the country, the Cuban Foreign Ministry’s Web site reported on Thursday.

The Yemeni official also acknowledged the quality of human resources, particularly the medical workers that offered their services in several regions of Yemen and made important contributions to that people.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Paulovich underscored the work of the Ministry of Human Rights and praised the example of the Minister heading that organization.

The two officials also referred to the damages inflicted on the Cuban people by the criminal economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on the island, and reflected the stance of the Cuban government against human rights violations in the facilities of the U.S. Naval Base of Guantanamo, as well as the fair clamor for the return to Cuba of that occupied territory.
