Havana, September 10 (RHC)-- The Cuban Foreign Ministry reported that nearly one thousand nationals residing in 91 countries registered this past week on a webpage created by authorities on the island to facilitate the participation of Cuban nationals abroad in the ongoing public consultation process on the proposed draft of the country's Constitution.

In an unprecedented event in Cuba's history, the more than one million four hundred Cubans residing abroad were invited to participate in the constitutional reform process, sending their opinions and suggestions on the proposed text through the webpage www.nacionyemigracion.cu, created on the official website of the Cuban Foreign Ministry (MINREX).

Just like Cubans on the island, nationals residing abroad have until November 15th to submit their opinions and suggestions.

After that, a national commission will write a new version of the Constitution, taking into account all the opinions, recommendations and suggestions collected in public debates island wide and submitted by Cubans residing abroad.

The Cuban Parliament will meet again to analyze the final text, which will then be submitted to a national referendum.
