Geneva, May 1 (RHC)-- At the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva, Cuba denounced Washington’s hostility and the fresh package of coercive measures by the Donald Trump administration to suffocate Cuba’s economy. Addressing a session of the WTO Committee on Trade and Development devoted to small, vulnerable economies, Cuban ambassador Pedro Luis Pedroso said about Washington’s stepped up hostility: "These actions seek to impose U.S. colonial domination over Cuba."
The senior Cuban diplomat recalled that the Trump administration announced the activation of Title III of the Helms-Burton Law, which seeks to punish companies and individuals from third nations that do business with Cuba. "Helms-Burton is a legal aberration,” said the Cuban ambassador and recalled that the infamous piece of legislation is rejected by the vast majority of the international community for its extraterritorial nature.
