Paris, Apr 7 (RHC), -- The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday issued a statement expressing France's keeness to establish a constructive relation with Cuba in all spheres. The statement comes ahead of a programmed visit by French Foreign Minister to Cuba next Saturday April 12.
Romani Nadal, Foreign Ministry spokesman, emphasized that this is the first trip to Havana in the last 30 years by a senior French official and confirmed that the visit will promote the development of joint projects and economic partnerships.
Laurent Fabius is scheduled to meet with his counterpart, Bruno Rodriguez, in Havana to discuss prospects for bilateral relations and relevant international issues.
During his stay in Cuba, Fabius will also attend the opening of an Ubifranz office, a public facility tasked with provinding support for French businesses abroad.
France and Cuba established diplomatic relations in 1992 and more than 60 French firms are active on the island, including Air France and Corsair airlines.
