Camaguey, November 13 (RHC)-- Fifty percent of the flights at Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz International Airport in Camaguey, central Cuba, will be affected as of December 10, with the termination of flights by JetBlue Airways and American Airlines, as a consequence of the measures announced by the Donald Trump administration.

The United States recently announced the suspension of flights from its territory to nine destinations in Cuba, except Havana, as part of the tightening of its economic, commercial and financial blockade against the island.

Both American companies arrive daily at this airport, which means that there will be 14 flights no longer received weekly, although there will be 13 more, Leudes Escobar, its director, told the press.

After more than five decades without direct commercial flights between the two countries, their resumption by the Obama Administration was a relief for the reunification of families, primarily due to improved services and lower airfares.
