Havana, February 4 (RHC)-- Informática 2020 Fair and Convention will showcase Cuba's main advances in the field, said an official from the Ministry of Communications (MINCOM).

Magda Brito D'Toste, director of Informatization of the Ministry, told the Cuban News Agency that this edition's motto is "For the digital transformation." The fair will run from March 16 to 20 at the Havana Convention Center with 13 main events.

Brito, who is also the executive secretary of Informática 2020,  said that the meeting is expected to contribute to the exchange of knowledge by including, in the main sessions, lectures, panels, and round tables with the participation of national and international experts.

The academic program also includes pre-congress courses associated with current topics such as fourth and fifth-generation networks, cyber-security and crypto-money, Brito D'Toste said.

The official added that strengthening the knowledge generated by Cuban universities is a premise for the Cuban government. For this reason,  the University of Computer Sciences (UCI), the José Antonio Echeverría Technological University of Havana (CUJAE), and the Marta Abreu de las Villas Central University will host events during the Convention.
One of the novelties of the event will be the first national meeting of YouTubers and Cuban influencers with the sponsorship of the Computer and Electronics Youth Club.

Another first will be the participation of the non-state sector through the representation of computer equipment programmers.

Magda Brito D'Toste said that as part of the pre-Congress activities, the III National Workshop on Computerization and Cybersecurity stands out. It will bring together the central state administration bodies and officials and specialists who work in the provincial governments in the computerization process.
