With 56 new cases, Cuba surpasses 600 COVID-19 diagnosed patients

Havana, April 2 (RHC)--Cuba reported on Friday 56 new cases of COVID-19, tallying 620 the cases diagnosed on the island.

The new cases include 55 Cubans and a Bolivian national. 31 of all the cases were asymptomatic.

In the daily briefing on the development of the epidemic on the island, the head of Epidemiology at the Ministry of Public Affairs, Dr. Francisco Duran, said that  2415 people remain hospitalized, of whom 445 are under surveillance and  1439 are suspected cases.

Of the 620 confirmed cases, 513 are reported in stable, 5 in critical and 7  in serious condition.

26 more people recovered for a total of 77 people discharged from the hospital.

Doctor Duran informed about one additional death, a 91-year-old female patient from Villa Clara province, bringing the total of fatalities on the island to 16.

182 countries have reported new coronavirus cases worldwide, with the addition of Yemen. They report over 1.5 million conformed cases,  95, 400 deaths.
