Havana, May 20 (RHC)-- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez highlighted this Wednesday the contribution of the Caribbean nation's health collaborators who are fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic in different parts of the world.

On his Twitter account, the top Cuban diplomat stressed that, in view of the international health emergency, some 2,300 Cuban specialists, organized in 26 Henry Reeve Brigades, traveled to 24 countries to fight the new disease.

They joined the more than 28,000 health professionals who worked in 59 nations before the pandemic, and who also joined the efforts of each region to combat SARS CoV-2.

Recently, Cuba's Minister of Public Health, José Angel Portal, reiterated to the World Health Organization Cuba's willingness to cooperate and share the island's "modest experiences" in the fight against COVID-19.

During his speech at the 73rd World Health Assembly, the minister of health stated that neither the genocidal U.S. blockade nor the attempts to discredit and hinder medical cooperation have forced the Revolution to abandon its vocation of solidarity.
