Kingston, June 22 (RHC)-- The Association of Cuban Residents in St. Vincent and the Grenadines "Juan Almeida Bosque," supports the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to the Henry Reeve Cuban Medical Brigade, in recognition of their exemplary humanitarian work in the face of pandemics and natural disasters over the past 15 years and especially in confronting the current pandemic of the COVID-19.

In the midst of the intensification of the economic, commercial and financial blockade, the increase in sanctions and hostilities against the Caribbean island, the Cubans living in that country, denounce the attempts of the U.S. government and its lackeys that seek to discredit the solidarity character of the medical missions of Cuba.

Last June 10th, on the occasion of the ALBA-TCP Virtual Summit, the Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Ralph Gonsalves, reiterated the support of the government and people of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines for the awarding of the renowned prize to the Cuban Medical Brigade.

In this sister nation, a brigade of Cuban physicians made up of 16 health professionals is working together with the Grenadian health system -- fighting against the expansion of the new coronavirus pandemic.
