Havana, July 13 (RHC)-- The president of the Provincial Defense Council (CDP) of Havana, Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar, explained this Monday that producing and offering services must become an obsession in the post-COVID-19 recovery stage, since continuing to save lives is also linked to being efficient and productive.

During the daily meeting of the CDP in Havana, Torres Iríbar stressed that the food sector must be permanently monitored, and reported that in recent days the capital has increased its delivery of tons of food despite the productive limitations of the province.

Accompanying the economic battle with greater efficiency, productivity and a better use of human and financial resources, as well as continuing with the fulfillment of the investments planned for the year, are among the priorities in this stage of recovery, he stressed.

Regarding food production, it was learned that work is underway to complete an industrial complex in the capital for the benefit of fruits and vegetables, which has the capacity to obtain a finished production of one ton per hour.

This project will also have points of sale on site and a shopping center within the same complex to bring producers inputs such as bioproducts and work tools.

In addition, the first organic fertilizer center in Cuba should be inaugurated soon. It will be located in the municipality of El Cotorro and will be a way to facilitate the purchase of this input in various containers by the city's farmers, which will also be sold by the Agricultural Stores Clinic.

Torres Iríbar emphasized that it is necessary to control the compliance of the measures for phase one of recovery, because if the aspiration is to move on to Phase Two, indicators must be met and progress must be made from the technical and qualitative point of view.
