Havana, November 9 (RHC)/-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel congratulated on Monday the king of Cambodia, Norodom Sihamoni, on the 67th anniversary of the proclamation of that country's independence.
The dignitary reiterated to the monarch the island's willingness to continue strengthening the bonds of friendship and bilateral cooperation.
Cuba and the Kingdom of Cambodia are commemorating in 2020 six decades of establishing their diplomatic relations.
That Southeast Asian nation obtained its independence from France on November 9, 1953.
Cambodia is part of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), a block that confirmed the island's acceptance as a member of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation.
