Havana, November 16 (RHC)-- With the arrival of a Swift Airlines plane at Terminal 2 of the José Martí International Airport in Havana, regular commercial flights officially resumed on Sunday at the country's main airfield, following strict biosafety regulations.

In this way, all services in the ten international airports of the Island were reestablished, following protocols established by the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), and the recommendations of the working group of the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) for the recovery of aviation.

Liset Urgelles Carreras, Deputy Director of the Cuban Company of Airports and Airport Services (ECASA), told Granma that the sanitary control reinforcement would guarantee passengers,  crew members, and workers' safety and minimizing the risk of introducing into the country sick people with SARS-COV-2.

Regarding permitted baggage and taking into account that there have been modifications in the protocols, she said that the restriction of two pieces of baggage of up to 32 kg was eliminated and that customs regulations that existed before COVID-19 are kept.
