Paris, March 26 (RHC)-- Organizations and citizens from different sectors in more than 50 countries worldwide have confirmed activities this weekend to protest against the U.S. blockade on Cuba, said promoters of the mobilization.

Actions are planned for Saturday and Sunday in the five continents with a clear message of rebuke and condemnation of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed the United States has imposed on the island for almost six decades.

José Antonio Toledo and Michele Mesagna, coordinators of the Europe for Cuba channel, the platform that launched the call a month ago, spoke with Prensa Latina news agency about the actions.

They said the actions range from caravans of cars, motorcycles, and bicycles to rallies, marches, mountain climbing, and dialogue with passers-by to explain to them the impact of the siege applied by Washington.

Solidarity, political and trade union organizations, associations of Cuban residents, and individual citizens from different countries assured their participation in the day.

Social media will play an essential role in disseminating the actions against the blockade against Cuba throughout the world. Simultaneously, the channel will broadcast through its YouTube platform on both days, they said.

Likewise, they insisted that the world caravan of the last weekend of March is only the beginning of mobilizations around the planet against the genocidal U.S. policy, which will not stop until it comes to an end.

They also stressed the importance of considering Cuba as the protagonist in this campaign and condemning a criminal blockade that they asked to be called by its name.

According to the call, mobilizations will occur on Saturday in Asia, Oceania, Africa, South America, and Europe, and on Sunday in North and Central America. However, some organizations made adjustments based on the local reality and the scenario derived from the pandemic.
