Holguin, August 2 (RHC)-- Young people from 10 nations of the African and Asian continents graduated Monday from the Medical School of the University of Medical Sciences of the province of Holguin, in eastern Cuba.

Anouhou Seyni Samí, the best graduate of the 44th graduation of that Holguin institution, began his speech thanking Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, 'who, because of his vision many poor people of the world had the opportunity to study for free this noble career in Cuba.'

'For us it is an honor to reach this point in our lives, because in countries like mine, the Republic of Niger, this possibility does not exist as it does here and today, after seven years, we leave trained as doctors of science and conscience, something that humanity needs at this time.

Twenty-five students from Botswana, Indonesia, Lesotho, Palestine, Niger, Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic, Swaziland, Sudan, Zimbabwe, and the Central African Republic took their graduation oath. They expressed their decision to always fight for life in any part of the world.

The University of Medical Sciences of Holguin, during 49 years, has graduated some  30 thousand professionals to the Cuban Health System and 47 countries. This course graduates more than 1,309 young people in the careers of Medicine and Nursing and other specialties, such as professional technicians.
