Havana, October 23 (RHC)--The Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) will hold Saturday an event to denounce the new attempts of social destabilization on the island and the blockade imposed by the United States.

According to the planned schedule, the international virtual meeting 'Reason is our shield' will be broadcast on the institute's YouTube and Facebook channels at 9:00 a.m. local time.

The meeting 'will address the background and true motives behind the supposedly peaceful march, which is illegal and unconstitutional, and the reasons of the Revolution against this new provocation' says a press release.

Participants include the Cuba-Venezuela Solidarity Committee coordinator, Gloria La Riva, Canadian intellectual Arnold August, and the mayor of the capital's Habana Vieja municipality, where the march was originally called.

Regarding this new destabilization attempt, the Government of the Caribbean nation stressed its subversive nature and its alignment with the interests of the United States.

On this issue, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez denounced Washington's multidimensional strategy against the island, which includes economic pressure and financing to those who support its destabilizing agenda.
