Washington, October 24 (RHC)-- The co-founder of the Anti-Blockade Movement to Cuba, known as NEMO, Manuel Tejeda, assured that those who try to generate destabilization on the island take refuge in the 'democracy' promoted by the U.S. ruling elite.

In politics, more than in any other facet of life, not everything that glitters is gold, nor everything that appears to be true wrote the doctor of science in an article in El Diario Latinoamericano, a publication of Hispanics in the United States.

There is a very thin line between what appears to be the defense of the 'common good' and demagoguery, which is mixed with populism to hold on to the position it has or to secure the power it does not possess,' he exemplified.

He added that each group that supports a specific political position has a special relationship with the truth, which often becomes a unique truth.

If we understand this, it will not be difficult to know why we cannot fall into the trap into which the administration of President Joe Biden, the Cuban ultra-right in the United States, and its lackeys on the island are leading, he said.

According to Tejeda, the street action announced for November 15 is not authentic because its promoters have not exhausted all possible means of demonstration. The objective is to establish 'an economic order and a form of government opposed to the existing one.'

The political scientist explained that those promoting the demonstration on the island sought a political system revoked 62 years ago by a genuine and autochthonous Revolution.

He also pointed out that they are financed by the same power and groups that have done the impossible during those almost 63 years, from millionaire media campaigns to terrorist acts and aggressions to recover the benefits lost by the oligarchy.

Not to confront this reality with all the resources of a State and with all the forces of those who mainly support the Cuban social project would be an enormous political naivety, said Tejeda.

He concluded that not taking action is very costly, as we have seen in so many countries victims of neo-liberal interference disguised as messengers of 'freedom' and 'democracy'.
