Cuba, first place in Latin America and third in the world in vaccination against Covid-19

Havana, December 7  (RHC)-- The Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) announced Monday that the country ranks first in Latin America and third in the world in anti-Covid-19 immunization, with 83 percent of the population vaccinated (9 286,956 people).

Only surpassed globally by the United Arab Emirates and Singapore, the Caribbean nation has administered up to the 4th of this month, 28 million 644 thousand eight doses to its inhabitants of the nationally produced immunogens: 'Soberana 02', 'Soberana Plus' and 'Abdala'.
MINSAP data indicate that 10 million 192 thousand 588 people in Cuba have at least the first dose; 9 million 238 thousand 960 people have the second dose and 8 million 777 thousand 419 have the third dose.

Likewise, a total of 435 thousand 41 inhabitants have a booster injection, 65 thousand 330 of them belonging to clinical studies and 369 thousand 711 as part of this type of vaccination in the population of selected territories and at-risk groups.

This Monday began in the Cuban capital the application of a booster dose of 'Abdala' in four of the 15 municipalities of the territory: Guanabacoa, Regla, Habana del Este, and San Miguel del Padrón.

Those who are not convalescing from the disease and who have been inoculated for six months with the complete schedule of any vaccine will be included in this process.

The first stage of booster vaccination in Cuba also included personnel from the Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Industries BioCubaFarma business group and other at-risk sectors throughout the Caribbean island. (Source: PL)
