Havana, December 13 (RHC)-- Venezuelan Foreign Minister Felix Plasencia has arrived in Cuba to participate in the 20th Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People's Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP), to be held tomorrow.

This was reported on his official Twitter account by the director of South America at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Carlos de Céspedes, who described the regional bloc as "a robust and twinned mechanism".

The day before, the Cuban Minister of Culture, Alpidio Alonso, received the first delegations attending the 20th Summit, with representatives from Antigua and Barbuda, St. Kitts and Nevis, and St. Lucia.

The meeting will study the creation of joint strategies to face the post-pandemic stage, the regional scenario, actions to guarantee peace and stability, and political coordination to prevent interference in internal affairs.
ALBA-TCP is made up of 10 Latin American and Caribbean countries and was founded in Havana on December 14, 2004, by leaders Fidel Castro and Hugo Chávez.

The mechanism has among its principles the agreement of multilateral positions for negotiation and emphasizes the fight against poverty and exclusion.
