Havana, July 15 (RHC) –- Cuban President Raul Castro held talks on Monday with Dr. Margaret Chan, Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), and Carissa Etienne, Director of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), who are visiting Cuba.
During the meeting, issues related to the 67th World Health Assembly, held last May in Geneva and chaired by Cuba, were addressed by the dignitaries.
The Millennium Development Goals; the post-2015 development agenda, as well as universal health coverage were also among the discussed topics.
Raul and the visiting officials also highlighted the collaboration that provided by Cuba to other nations, particularly in health services and training of human resources.
He accompanied the distinguished visitors José Luis di Fabio, representative in Cuba of the WHO and PAHO. Cuban Vice President Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla and Health Minister Roberto Morales Ojeda also attended the meeting.
