Cubans living in Europe call for actions against U.S. blockade
Paris, February 13 (RHC)-- Cubans living in Europe called today from the platform Juntos X Cuba to carry out various actions against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on the island.
"For Cuba, for our homeland, for the Cuban family: Down with the blockade", reflects on YouTube the audiovisual material of the campaign's launch, which includes images of mobilizations in various parts of the planet to reject the siege that Washington has applied to the largest of the Antilles for more than 60 years.
According to the promoters, the call is to develop activities against the blockade by associations and individuals and to share them with the Juntos X Cuba channel for their dissemination on the social network itself, where the platform broadcasts a program every Friday.
In that sense, they asked to send videos and photos of the actions carried out to an email, and specified that the campaign is not limited to a specific time, as it will be active during the coming months.
In early February, moderators of the platform commented to Prensa Latina that its objective is to combat the disinformation and manipulation with which issues related to the Caribbean island are frequently presented on social networks.
José Conde, resident in Germany; Ada Galano, in Italy; and Danilo Campos, in France, defined the proposal - which they coordinate together with compatriots in Austria, Spain, Greece and the United Kingdom - as multidimensional, since it includes a YouTube channel, contributes to solidarity actions with the Caribbean country and organizes events.
"The only thing we don't do here is to speak ill of the Cuban Revolution", said Campos to summarize the will of the promoters of the initiative to work in defense of their homeland and to support it in the face of multiple challenges, from the blockade imposed by the United States for more than six decades to the Covid-19 pandemic.
