Havana, June 18 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel continued this Saturday his tour of the country's eight power plants (CTE), in support of the efforts being made to recover generation, the Presidency reported on Twitter.
The Cuban President began this tour Friday in the eastern region, where he visited the Antonio Maceo' Power Plant in Santiago de Cuba, also known as Renté, and the Lidio Ramón plant
in Felton, Holguín.
The start of the tour in Santiago was no coincidence since the completion of maintenance work on Unit 6 of its power plant was part of the recovery of the generation of electricity in the national territory, he said.
At these sites, Díaz-Canel acknowledged the efforts of the workers of these centers, to whom he expressed the gratitude of the population for the hard work they carry out to sustain the current demand while they undertake the maintenance of the blocks in operation.
The word heroes is not a compliment to you; we consider it as such, for all the effort you are making under very difficult working conditions," he said in Felton.
He also praised the high level of training of the specialists, who carry out very demanding technological processes.
The head of state also visited the Diez de Octubre plant this Friday, in Nuevitas, Camagüey, whose three generating- units are in operation and contribute 250 MW to the national electric power system.
