Havana, Jun 23 (RHC)-- Cuba and France ratified their will to expand and strengthen inter-parliamentary relations during a meeting between the president of the National Assembly of People's Power (Cuban Parliament), Esteban Lazo, and the leader of the Caribbean Friendship Group of the Senate of that European country, Helene Conway-Mouret.
The Cuban Parliament reported on Twitter that the meeting at the Cuban Parliament's headquarters in the National Capitol also highlighted the positive state of bilateral relations.
During the meeting, Lazo thanked France for its support in favor of the lifting of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed on his country by the U.S. government more than six decades ago and intensified in times of the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to official sources, the program of the delegation of the France-Cuba Friendship Group includes visits to scientific institutions, such as the Finlay Institute of Vaccines. It foresees an exchange at the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Environment on the Task Life, an integral proposal of the Cuban state to confront climate change.
