Cuban president describes teleSUR as the face of Our America
Havana, July 24 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel described teleSUR as "The voice and face of Our America," on the 17th anniversary of the founding of the multi-media giant.
On his Twitter account, the president said that Cuba "is and feels part of the channel" founded by the president of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez, and Cuban leader Fidel Castro.
Likewise, addressing the media collective, he said: "We embrace you, with joy and confidence that you will continue to be the voice and the face of Our America."
TeleSUR, founded in 2005 on this date, continues to be an information media that reflects an alternative image of the reality, struggles and aspirations of the peoples, especially in Latin America, in contrast to the hegemonic message offered by the big communication networks.
Although its detractors predicted an ephemeral life, and having overcome many obstacles, the channel has been expanding its projection and today has millions of loyal viewers in Latin America, Europe, Africa and Asia.
