U.S. solidarity group in Villa Clara

Santa Clara, July 28 (RHC)-- Members of the Party for Socialism and Liberation from the United States held meetings with government officials and residents of the central Cuban province of Villa Clara.  In Santa Clara, the solidarity group received extensive information on the prospects and opportunities for development of the territory in the productive, social and service sectors from Milagros Artiles, director of International Relations of the provincial government.

The young Americans were also interested in current issues such as the electro-energy situation in this central area, the functioning of the organs of the People's Power, social indicators, investment opportunities and the impact of the U.S. blockade against the Cuban nation.

Walter Smolarek, from the United States, in his speech said: "In the United States we believe in the freedom, justice and democracy of the Cuban Revolution, and we will continue to fight to eliminate the blockade that the government of our country imposes on the island".

Previously, the solidarity delegation visited the Ernesto Guevara memorial that keeps the remains of the Argentinean-Cuban commander, where they laid a wreath in front of the niches of Che and his fighters who fell in the guerrilla war in Bolivia in 1967.

The group ended its tour of Villa Clara province with meetings with inhabitants of the rural community Julián Grimau, in addition to visiting a private production micro-enterprise and several Public Health institutions.
