27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27)

Havana, Nov 10 (RHC) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel stressed Thursday that the new global goal for climate financing should be based on the needs and priorities of developing countries.

Through his Twitter account, the president said that these nations are the most affected by climate change, so urgent actions and "more ambitious commitments by developed countries" are required, he said.

Also on Twitter, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez stressed that climate financing is indispensable for adaptation and mitigation actions in developing countries.

In the context of the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27), Rodríguez stressed that it is the moral duty and responsibility of the industrialized nations, which cause climate degradation, to provide these resources.

At COP27, which is being held until November 18 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, developing countries are expected to seek the commitment of rich nations in terms of the financing and technology necessary to face climate change and the resulting disasters (Source: Prensa Latina).
